XR150

The x-ray generator XR150 is one of the world’s most widely used tubes for police and military applications. All x-ray tubes are operated independently of the mains. The X-ray tubes are characterized by a long service life and are easy to use.

The x-ray generator XR150 is a battery-powered 150 kV pulsed x-ray generator, which is mainly used for safety applications. Golden Engineering introduced the XR150 in 1993 for applications requiring extreme portability. The XR150 design has been modified three times since its inception, with the most significant change being made in 2016. The updated design enhances user interface capabilities and adds a standard DeWalt® battery pack, while retaining the traditional compact size and rugged penetration, making the XR150 unique.

The 2016 redesign reduces the weight of the X-ray generator by 20% and the weight of the kit including carrying bag by 32%. The XR150 is now 35% smaller than its predecessor. The sleeker design makes it easier to put the XR150 in pockets. Multiple connection points allow the operator to use different fasteners to attach the XR150 to straps, zippers or backpacks. Despite the reduced size and weight, Golden Engineering has increased the output dose by an average of 25%.

The menu-based electronics allow the operator to enter up to 999 counts in multiple bursts. Operators can also slow down the pulse rate and even pulse the generator continuously at a slower rate. A lifetime pulse counter indicates the total number of pulses fired at the generator, and a resettable pulse counter can track the number of pulses from a particular event. The XR150 can deliver approximately 2000 pulses per charge on a 40-minute DeWalt® 12V lithium-ion battery.
