RTT

RTT - Real Time Tomography

There are hardly any reasons not to use the RAPISCAN real-time tomograph RTT for baggage control at airports or parcel control in air freight, because:

  • the throughput of an RTT is up to 1800 pieces of baggage per hour.
  • the belt speed of the BHS is either 0.25 or 0.5 m / second.
  • with around 11 m³ footprint, the RTT can be integrated into existing BHS lines. This saves conversion and assembly costs and time.
  • the RTT is environmentally friendly, energy-saving and also has a sleep and standby mode.
  • the RAPISCAN real-time tomograph no longer has a rotating gantry, i.e. hardly any moving mechanics and thus saves considerable maintenance costs with higher availability (highest MTBF).
  • the fixed, ring-shaped arrangement of X-ray sources and image sensors does not rotate mechanically but is activated and interrogated electronically rotating. This innovative RAPISCAN technology allows faster “rotation” than is possible with mechanically rotating systems. More images with higher resolution can be taken without mechanical wear.
  • the super-high resolution of the full-volumetric 3D images enables better detection at lowest false alarm rate, saves personnel and increases efficiency with fastest transit times from check-in to aircraft or throughput in air freight parcel inspection.
  • the ring of X-ray sources is equipped with a large number of additional sources offering high redundancy. The failure of one X-ray tube will no longer paralyze your operation for 1 to 2 days, as the RTT operator simply has to switch to a new, unused source to continue working.
  • in addition, the additional X-ray sources will be available if the EU increases the requirements accordingly in the future. The RTT is thus “future proof”. New EU requirements can be met quickly and cost-effectively with a software update and do not require the purchase of a new device.
  • the RAPISCAN RTT is ECAC Standard 3 EDS certified and STP compliant.
