Scanmax 15
The SCANMAX 15 is the “mini X-ray device” for professional mail inspection of small stacks of letters, parcels, and express envelopes. With the optionally available rolling cart, the device can also be used mobile and is employed, for example, for cell inspections in correctional facilities.
Scanmax 15 is our space-saving color cabinet X-ray scanner for inspecting bundles of letters, documents, and small parcels.
Thanks to its compact size, you can place it on a standard desk or under a desk or mail station, making it ideal for locations with limited space.
Scanmax 15 can also be supplied as a freestanding cabinet on a mobile trolley base.
Compact and easy to use
Scanmax 15 is a desktop or floor-standing mail security X-ray device that combines a compact housing with high-resolution, easy-to-identify X-ray images. It is designed to be simple to operate even for non-technical personnel. The front-loading door and small footprint allow it to be positioned virtually anywhere in the workplace.
Image enhancements
Scanmax images are automatically enhanced for optimal clarity with the option to display in negative. There are also various image enhancement options to highlight low, medium, and high-density materials as well as to define powders, syringes, and circuits.
X-ray image enhancements are performed with a simple hand mouse. All images are saved on the screen until the next X-ray is taken.
Powder detection
Both Scanna and customer tests have shown that Scanmax Colorscan X-ray devices are capable of clearly seeing powder in envelopes, provided the envelopes are scanned flat in small quantities (up to 30/40 envelopes with the envelope containing powder).
Versatile monitor
The 17-inch flat screen can be positioned on top of the X-ray cabinet, on top of the desk, or remotely connected to a security control room.
This is an advantage over mail X-ray devices with built-in monitors (remote viewing possible and no shutdown of the device or expensive maintenance due to monitor failures—simply replace the monitor!).
Advanced options
With the optional Scanprint function, you can print, email, and archive X-ray images, while the network model allows you to link your X-ray device to a PC on your network for remote storage and saving of images.
Safe and secure
Scanmax 15 cabinet X-ray devices generate only very low X-rays and comply with all published international standards for electrical safety and radiation. Each X-ray device receives a radiation protection and test certificate. It is completely safe for any person including pregnant women.
User training
A range of operator training programs and X-ray image recognition charts is available.
We also produce a larger floor-standing cabinet X-ray machine for inspecting larger volumes of mail, courier deliveries, and parcels—Scanmax 25 and an advanced mail and parcel X-ray scanner—Scanmax 225.
Scanmax 15 has been designed and tested to comply with the British Security Industry Standard: PAS97:2012 Specification for Mail Screening as well as FDA standards for cabinet X-ray systems CFR 1020.40.
