What is X-Ray Tutor?

X-Ray Tutor 5 (XRT5) is a comprehensive training and testing solution. The software is the official successor to XRT4. The image evaluation functions enable you to select, train and test X-ray security operators
with single- and dual-view imaging as well as 3D computed tomography technology.

XRT5 runs in various internet browsers without a plug-in. It is highly flexible and configurable and supports different user interfaces for different device types. Customers can also upload their own images and create tailored training and test courses as well as theoretical content for e-learning applications.

XRT5 is not only compatible with single-view, dual-view and 3D CT, but also supports computer-based training and testing of security personnel in various operational areas. In addition to standard cabin baggage and hold baggage, this includes cargo, mail, air supply and staff training, and even large-scale truck inspection in the customs sector. 3D CT, multi-view and single-view

XRT5 offers not only selection, training and assessment for single-view, but also a range of courses for multi-view and 3D CT across various areas. It covers all your requirements for training and testing X-ray security personnel in a single solution.

Different user interfaces

Various user interfaces are available that replicate different X-ray systems. To make the training and testing experience as realistic as possible, we have integrated all common image enhancement functions to create the same viewing conditions a security officer would encounter at the checkpoint.

Individually adaptable training

By using an individually adaptable difficulty-level system, each user is presented with images tailored to their individual knowledge and skills. This ensures that users are optimally challenged and motivated by the images presented, making XRT5 a highly effective and efficient training solution.

Extensive image library based on a systematic threat assessment

XRT4 is available for various operational areas, such as cabin baggage screening, cargo screening, etc. Each library contains high-quality X-ray images of several hundred prohibited items in various rotations and several thousand containers (e.g., bags, parcels—depending on the operational area). Regular updates to the image library are based on a systematic threat analysis that takes new and emerging threats into account.

RESPONSE CONFIGURATION

The response buttons can be customised to train security personnel on the appropriate response to suspicious items. Instead of buttons such as “OK” and “Not OK”, the specific actions can be defined in more detail to meet the requirements of national regulations and/or internal procedures. If required, security personnel can be prompted to select a category for suspected prohibited items.

Detailed feedback, reporting and data storage

For security officers, it is important to receive detailed and immediate feedback in order to gain the maximum benefit from computer-based training. XRT4 provides feedback on individual images, on training sessions and on progress through the individual levels. In addition, administrators have access to a reporting function integrated into the application, and all key data is stored in a data repository accessible to customers.

Training and testing platform

The complete solution combines training and testing modules on a single platform. It includes tools to optimise user management, option settings and reporting. Thanks to its customisable features, it enables a simple and streamlined training and testing experience.

XRT5 Expert

The XRT5 Expert feature offers a wide range of customisation options tailored precisely to your needs. You can create and upload your own images in various formats and combine them with the image libraries provided by CASRA.
You can also compile your own training and test sessions—both practical and theoretical—and choose from a range of configurations and customisation options so that they meet your organisation’s requirements.
