Elegant, robust and ergonomic

The PD240CB features a special ergonomic design with an offset handle that ensures the operator’s hand does not interfere with the sensitive detection area. This means fewer scans per person and therefore shorter screening times per person.

Particular attention was paid to the detector’s mechanical design. As it has no sharp edges or corners, the detector can be moved smoothly over the area to be screened without snagging on buttons, buckles, folds or other parts of clothing.

Advanced control panel

The control panel with buttons and indicator lights is made of thick-walled silicone, ensuring a high degree of protection, making the PD240CB suitable for indoor and outdoor use.

Compliant with NIJ Standard 0602.02

The detector’s technical features comply with NIJ Standard 0602.02 and the new NIJ draft standard 0602.03. The PD240CB has uniform sensitivity to magnetic and non-magnetic targets, including those made of stainless steel. At the same time, the detector offers excellent body-effect compensation and has high immunity to external interference from electromagnetic and mechanical sources.

Fully digital design

The PD240CB is fully digital. Its electronic functions include a DSP (Digital Signal Processing)-based transmitter/receiver for the inspection field, a digital user interface, and external communication options via the integrated USB port. Combined with a special printed antenna, this design ensures maximum reliability and very high repeatability.

Extended operating time

The PD240CB is powered by two AA-size NiMH rechargeable batteries, providing an operating time of more than 50 hours. When inactive, a power-saving mode is activated automatically, extending operating time to up to 100 hours. An internal circuit optimises the charging process, which takes less than five hours.

Advanced communication features

The metal detector’s digital design also enables maximum flexibility in selecting the signalling method for detection alarms. Users can keep the factory settings or connect the detector to a PC via the USB port and then customise the settings individually using a dedicated graphical user interface.
