The new SMD®600 PLUS – MI2™ combines:

  • The proven performance of the CEIA SMD®600 Plus in detecting weapons and discriminating metallic objects on the body – a 288-channel walk-through metal detector (WTMD) that fully meets the requirements of NIJ 0601.02.

  • The detection and discrimination capabilities for mobile phones/smartphones of the new CEIA MSD EVO™, a state-of-the-art 18-axis magnetostatic detector that offers unparalleled detection uniformity and immunity to interference.

By itself, the CEIA SMD®600 Plus WTMD is already a complete and efficient solution for the highly sensitive detection of metal weapons and mobile phones/smartphones in applications such as correctional facilities, where inmates to be screened are metal-free or nearly metal-free.

The new SMD®600 Plus –MI2™ also enables the inspection of visitors to correctional facilities or, more generally, individuals in street clothes at a standard checkpoint where the detection of assembled/disassembled firearms, as well as standard and miniature mobile phones/smartphones, is required with a low false alarm rate.

The new SMD®600 Plus –MI2™ also provides specific visual and acoustic signals for weapons or mobile phones/smartphones, thus facilitating the follow-up inspection carried out by security personnel.
