It can detect a wide range of narcotics and explosives in the nanogram range. Areas of application include passenger, personnel, and cargo\/goods screening. <\/p><p>The Itemiser\u00ae 5X is approved by the ECAC (European Civil Aviation Conference) for screening passengers, personnel, and cargo. It is also listed and certified in Annex R3 as approved security equipment in accordance with \u00a710a LuftSiG for the areas of responsibility under \u00a7\u00a7 5 and 8 LuftSiG. Additionally, the device meets the requirements of the U.S. Transportation Security Administration (TSA) and is listed as approved technology in the Air Cargo Screening Technology List (ACSTL).  <\/p><p>Rapiscan Systems offers a special sampling wand for the Itemiser\u00ae 5X. This innovative repeating wand functions as an extended arm of the operator and prevents direct contact with the sampling strip or the object surface. It also helps maintain spatial distance from the person being screened.
